TV Remote: Universal Remotes

Last updated: October 2, 2026

This policy explains how the TV Remote: Universal Remotes app (“the app”) handles information. The app has no user accounts and we do not run servers that receive your data.

Information that stays on your device

Voice commands

When you tap the microphone, your speech is converted to text by Apple’s Speech Recognition service, which may process audio on Apple’s servers under Apple’s privacy policy. The app only uses the resulting text to control your TV and does not store or send recordings to us.

Advertising

The app is free and shows ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the Advertising Identifier, with your permission), approximate location derived from IP address, and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads. You can allow or deny tracking in the iOS “Allow Tracking” prompt and change it any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. Where required by law (e.g. EU/UK GDPR, US state privacy laws), the app asks for your consent through Google’s consent message, which you can review again in the app. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Deleting your data

Use “Forget this TV” in the app, or delete the app to remove all locally stored data.

Changes

We may update this policy; the date above shows the latest version.
